District Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Jamaica and Cayman Islands
Welcome from the District Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Jamaica and Cayman Islands
Our current District Grand Master, RW Bro. Linton A. Andrews JP, was duly Installed on Tuesday October 20 2009 by the Pro Grand Master, MW Bro. John Hale, assisted by his Grand Officers. RW Bro Andrews took over from our Past DGM RW Bro. Whilston Taylor, J.P. who was at the helm for nineteen (19) years.
Our district consists of eight (8) Mark lodges in Jamaica and one (1) in Cayman. We also have responsibility for six (6) Royal Ark Mariner Lodges in Jamaica and one (1) in Cayman. Advancement to the degree of Mark Master Mason requires you to be a Master Mason first.
Mark Masonry has been worked in Jamaica at least since the 1850s and this English District Grand Mark Lodge was founded in January 1877.
We invite you to peruse our calendar of meetings and details on the two orders we administer, Mark Master Masonry and the Royal Ark Mariners.

Brief History of the Order
Following the Union of the Antients and Moderns Grand Lodges and the formation of the United Grand Lodge of England in 1813, the articles of union stated that there would be three Craft degrees only, including the Royal Arch, excluding the Mark degree.
As Freemasonry spread around the globe in the 18th and 19th centuries, Mark Masonry became well established and now has a worldwide presence, with six daughter Grand Lodges and the degree being worked under alternative administrative structures elsewhere. In England, the current Mark Grand Master, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, is the younger brother of the Craft Grand Master, HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Kent.
We have available a more in depth history of the Order of Mark Master Masons.
